Periodontitis / Periodontitis is a disease of the tooth supporting apparatus[i]
This is infectious disease, which is caused by certain bacterial species. Bleeding gums is one of the symptoms of gingivitis – inflammation of the gums, which if left untreated leads to the development of periodontitis. In both diseases there is redness, swelling, pain, bleeding and pocket formation, and what sets them apart is that Untreated gingivitis leads to bone loss/periodontitis/.
How is periodontitis diagnosed?
What is important to do in several consecutive steps:
- Consultation with a dentist.
- PET test (test for periodontitis pathogens).
- Rö-graphy.
- Tartar cleaning and teeth polishing.
- Stimulation (closed curettage, cleaning of all pockets) with a laser procedure.
- Surgical restoration of bone loss as indicated.
- Splinting of the teeth:
- With Kevlar fibers/tapes
- With orthopedic structures (bridges and crowns)
- Electronic doctor – stimulation of mesenchymal stem cells.
- Maintenance therapy and check-ups every 3 – 6 months.
- Self-medication is impossible, and
- Untimely and inadequate treatment of periodontitis leads to loosening and gradual loss of teeth.
