- Dr. Bushkalova, could you introduce us to the history of your practice?
- In 1992, my husband and I created one of the first private dental offices, then the First Private Dental Laboratory for the entire region. That was in a more distant time. We developed unconventionally and at a fast pace, we implemented new technologies and realized a product that was unknown in the then emerging market of dental and dental services. There were also moments of stagnation. Leading in my work has been to be new, to be different, to be as applicable and useful as possible! I have perceived my profession not just as a job. A dentist must have many qualities - in addition to knowledge, he must be an organizer of his activity, be able to structure it, be professionally qualified and apply it as much as possible! To be able to offer the best and appropriate solution to the patient! Dental medicine today is developing at an extraordinary pace based on new concepts as a result of scientific achievements. Therefore, the moment a professional stops developing, he is already behind.
Today, the studio has a general outpatient clinic for primary dental care, a specialized children's practice and a dental laboratory, where the manager is my partner - Ivan Paliyski. This is how we successfully apply various innovative technologies for the benefit of patients.
I put a lot of emphasis on teamwork and believe that only with a common "team" of competent professionals can one achieve high goals and achieve good results.
- Is prevention important?
- Prevention is the primary one - prevention of caries, especially in children and adolescents. My first specialization is children's dentistry and I believe that children should be invested in and focus on prevention. To build them as positive, well-educated, health-conscious future patients. The role of parents is important - proper nutrition, creating healthy habits, preventing and overcoming fears.
Secondary prevention is related to preventing complications from an already occurring disease. This means timely treatment and recovery.
-What dental services do you offer?
-We focus on modern treatment and aesthetic restoration, meeting all modern criteria and requirements. Laser dentistry and teeth whitening are new. Therapy and surgery with erbium /water/ laser is applied, we make ceramic veneers and zirconium crowns using CAD CAM technology. We work in the field of periodontology, gum problems, children's dentistry, we offer orthodontics and implantology in the final year. We offer the so-called "complete change", with the restoration of the young and beautiful appearance of the dentition.
We have implemented monitoring of patients' general and dental health status, informed consent, treatment and financial plan to know what risks and responsibilities we take on each other. For large constructions, we offer a contract for the execution of an order, thus securing both parties.
One of the curiosities for our little patients is the children's dental chair with an attractive rabbit figure to help the little patient relax and feel good.
-I see in your reception an award from the Association of Dental Managers in Bulgaria for Modern Dental Practice with Successful Management for 2011 and a Special Award Promised - Fulfilled for 2011! What exactly does that mean?
-These awards are very dear to me. They are related to my successful work on improving the organization of work in the dental practice and implementing new technologies, continuous professional improvement. I work with young people whom I train and I have the pleasure of seeing them develop. We were the first to start working with a dental assistant in addition to a nurse. This is something that is important and is yet to develop.
Investing today in people and technology is difficult, but this is the path to success in the profession, and it is an important part of my life!
