Dental implants

Tooth loss, especially in younger people and people of active age, is a serious problem. One way to solve it is to place implants. The advantage over other restoration methods is that the teeth adjacent to the defect are not affected, as is the case when preparing bridge structures.

What are dental implants?

The implant is a titanium screw fixed in the bone (it can also be made of zirconium, when higher aesthetics are required). After implantation, a certain time is waited for the integration of the implant with the bone (between 2 and 6 months, depending on the case). Then, a second part is placed supragingivally, screwed to the intraosseous part of the implant, which imitates a filed tooth. It is called an abutment. The corresponding crown or bridge is made and placed on this abutment. The cost of placing implants is worth it from a financial point of view, because the procedure is minimally invasive, safe and long-lasting. This is guaranteed by modern manufacturers of implants and implantation techniques. Certain requirements are necessary regarding the general health of the teeth and their hygiene.
