During dental procedures under medical sleep in the dental clinic, Dr. Plamen Ivanov conducts the initial consultations and provides guidance on all necessary examinations and for assessing the possibility of the patient being subjected to general anesthesia. During anesthesia and during the operation, he continuously monitors the main vital signs (heart rate and rhythm, blood oxygen saturation and arterial blood pressure, temperature, etc.). In the dental clinic, we have special equipment with which we monitor the depth of anesthesia in children.
When the surgery is over and the patient wakes up, he is taken out of the operating room, accompanied by the anesthesiologist and the anesthesiology nurse, to the "wake-up" room, where the anesthesia team waits for the effects of anesthesia to fully wear off.
If the patient is a child, a parent is called to the recovery room and stays with their child until they fully recover from anesthesia. When sending a patient, the anesthesiologist gives recommendations on how to start feeding after surgery and what fluid intake should be.
